Design
IXX logo represents the synergy between "me" (I) and "the other" (X and X) - "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts". This motto forms the inspiration for our business AND design concepts. Usually our work consist of "individual pieces" (products or modules) that together create "a bigger whole" (collections or artworks).
As a designer Jolijn has a fascination for abstract geometrical shapes and the repetitive patterns that form the base of many textile techniques and tactile structures. Her textile designs often derive from an in-depth study of the technique that enables her to either respect or stretch the technical boundaries where needed. She favors to work with natural materials or experimental materials (such as recycled waste or innovative 'smart' textiles). A well-trained sense for colour and esthetics result in sophisticated designs and artworks with textiles in the leading role.
For both commercial designs (for clients) and autonomous artworks (on assignment) IXX works with a 3-step model - starting with a visual brainstorm, followed by made-to-measure designs and completed with technical production drawings.

Production
Often the combination of design AND indepth knowledge and coördination of production processes is the key to success!
IXX functions as a linking pin between DESIGN, PRODUCTION and MARKET.
Having spent many years in various textile production environments Jolijn has developed an expertise in optimizing production processes to ensure maximum results in both quality and design standards. Throughout the years she has covered a broad range of techniques (both industrial and craft) such as: (rotary) screen print, digitalprint, blockprint, weave (jacquard, terry, dobby, carpet), tuft, yarn spinning, (natural) dyeing, felting, embroidery, laser and experimental techniques for textile artworks.

Supply
In 2010 IXX started working with craftspeople throughout India to create new designs for their traditional techniques and help their skills find the way to new high-end markets. Since 2014 IXX partners with Pashm to further expand and train a unique network of Indian craftgroups. Together IXX and Pashm serve their own brand KARIGAR and a selective group of B-to-B clients with handmade quality textiles from India.
